The Eno River Association is collaborating with Urban Community AgriNomics (UCAN) to help remove trees to prepare 2.2 acres for sustainable agriculture! You can learn more about UCAN here.
We are recruiting swampers (log-haulers) to help our certified sawyers (chainsaw operators) as they fell trees, which will be piled to be used for wood chips or sold for firewood, with all sales benefitting UCAN in their mission to empower Durham communities with access to resources to grow their own food in a sustainable way.
We will be working from roughly 9am until 2pm, but we are deeply appreciative of any time you are able to give.
Meeting location: 2080 Sawmill Creek Parkway, Durham, NC 27712. Follow the gravel driveway through the gate and park along the driveway loop or road.
Before you arrive: Complete our stewardship workday waiver. If you frequently attend ERA workdays, you may want to complete a 1-year waiver rather than a single-workday waiver.
What to bring: Wear weather-appropriate clothes and closed-toed shoes you're willing to get dirty. Bring a water bottle and a snack. If you have work gloves, bug spray, or sunscreen you like, bring them!
If you have any questions, you can reach out to Indigo at aW5kaWdvIHwgZW5vcml2ZXIgISBvcmc= or (919) 695-6672.
