Formed in Chapel Hill, NC, The Rattletraps are a band of songwriters who create a culmination of roots rock, country and blues music.
With songs about bar fights, working dead end jobs, and the streets of New Orleans, The Rattletraps find ways to create anthems that are bitter, cynical, and just the right amount of pissed off.
Featuring dueling bassists over washes of synths, Bat People emerged from the darkest depths of Durham NC, where no light penetrates and unknown creatures lurk. They deliver shambling bedroom pop songs of love and loss and food, paying homage to post-punk and drenched in an obsession with pop music and science fiction.
A warm sultry vocal timbre floods the ears. Enticing rhythms surge the senses. Thoughtful lyrics create contemplation. Cristina Suárez is an artist whose sets are not to be missed. From soulful jazz ballads and improvisation, to ambient and acoustic loop sets, to slappin’ de bass sum, she draws influence from all corners of the musical multiverse.
