On the 27th of June i will be launching my new Album titled "Gido" at The Playhouse's Drama Theatre. Receive this message as an invite to all but also an introduction to my journey.
I am the last born in a family that is a mix of most tribes of South Africa. This is a kind of mix that most people will never understand how it affects those born in it, positively or negatively. Ills like tribalism and racism affects you differently than most. At the same time its those very things that highlights your purpose in life. My purpose is, has always been and always will be to bring humans together. They say charity begins at home, if we fail to do so here at home with our people, how can we expect the world to one day achieve its dream of a unified World for all, perfect in every way for us all. In South Africa i belong to that generation that was called the lost generation and our stories remain untold, they were overshadowed by celebrations. The songs on this album are a remembering and trials of highlighting what unites us.

The live launch of Gido on 27 June 2025 at The Playhouse Company will start with the special screening of The Golden Nile Meridian documentary; an audiovisual journey that explores the ancient energy line stretching from Durban’s Bluff to the Pyramids of Giza. This screening serves as a vivid, cinematic extension of the Gido album. In the documentary together with the maestro Andile Yenana, weaving umakhweyana compositions into the texture of the soundscape ringing ancestral memory, cultural reclamation and African consciousness.
You can expect an immersive evening that connects sound, image and history. Special thanks go to SAMRO for their support in bringing this vision to life.
