About the event

VE Day 80th Anniversary Beacon Lighting

Houghton Regis Town Council is proud to be part of the national celebration, having been invited by Pageantmaster Bruno Peak CVO OBE OPR to mark this significant occasion. 🎉

To commemorate VE Day 80, we will be lighting a VE Day 80 Gas Beacon on Thursday 8th May at 9:30 pm. 🔥

The Beacon will be located next to the Flag Poles and Memorial Stone on the Village Green and will be lit by the Town Mayor, Councillor Elaine Cooper. 🇬🇧

The Beacon will burn for approximately one hour from 9:30 pm, and music from the era will accompany the commemoration. 🎶
