Come join Bikers Unlimited Michigan social media page for our annual Bubba ride. Bubba is a special needs child that needs our help with medical expenses. Bubba is restricted to a wheelchair and cannot see very well but loves the sounds of motorcycles. We have been doing this run for several years now and the family looks forward to us coming and showing our support for this outstanding young man. We will be meeting at Cabela’s at noon and kick stands up at 1 o’clock. The ride is approximately 20 minutes. Please feel it in your heart to attend and support Bubba. He would love to see you all! $20 a bike and ALL proceeds go to him. Any questions reach out to myself, Keith or Steve with any questions. See ya there!
From the parents of bubba to give a background below
From the moment Anthony entered our lives, he was meant to be our son. His birthmother chose us to adopt him, a decision that filled our hearts with joy. We envisioned a perfect adoption story, one filled with anticipation and love. But, as life often unfolds, things took a heart-wrenching turn.
Anthony suffered a devastating hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) event otherwise known as a brain injury… Tragically, his birth mother passed away while he was still in utero, and he was left without life support for over 20 agonizing minutes. The odds were stacked against him, and the doctors gave him a grim prognosis, stating he likely wouldn’t survive beyond two months.
Yet, we couldn’t bear the thought of leaving him in that cold hospital room, abandoned and alone. He was our son, and walking away was simply not an option. We made the difficult decision to bring him home on hospice care, despite the recommendation to let him go peacefully. In our hearts, we believed he deserved every chance to experience love and warmth.
Against all odds, Anthony chose to live. He defied every prediction, initially told he wouldn’t even see his first birthday—and now, we are grateful that he’s here to celebrate his eleventh birthday this year!!! Through numerous battles with pneumonia, a floppy airway requiring a trach and significant feeding challenges requiring a GJ tube, Anthony has shown remarkable resilience.
With determination and the support a natural, very low-carb diet, he has triumphed over seizures, achieving a state of being seizure-free. Each day with him is a precious gift, a celebration of his tenacity and spirit.
Anthony's journey is a testament to the power of hope and love. We cherish every moment with him, reveling in the strength he demonstrates every day. Truly, he has taught us that miracles can happen when we fiercely hold onto love and belief.
Thank you for letting us share Anthony's inspiring story with you. He is not just a survivor; he is a shining light in our lives.
We are open to any questions you have!! Please come meet this little big guy!! One thing he loves is the sound of motorcycles, it makes him smile from ear to ear! This is how the Bubba ride started!
