Unleash your inner knight and take your first steps into Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) with our 4-week beginners course focused on the German Longsword tradition. This course draws from the Pseudo von Danzig treatise, a key source in the lineage of Johannes Liechtenauer, one of the most influential fencing masters of medieval Europe.
Whether you’re completely new to martial arts or curious about swordsmanship and medieval combat, this course provides a structured, safe, and engaging introduction to the longsword. No prior experience or equipment is necessary — just bring comfortable workout clothes and a willingness to learn!
What You’ll Learn:
Fundamentals of footwork, posture, and guards
Core techniques and principles from the Liechtenauer tradition
Introductory drills and controlled sparring
Historical context and theory from the Pseudo von Danzig manuscript
