Ross A. and band return to Dublin to launch his highly anticipated debut album, Vestige.
The Grand Social Ballroom, an intimate and atmospheric new venue, promises to be a special place to catch this one-off occasion.
"It’s got that slow-release magic to it. You don’t realise how much it’s gotten under your skin until it’s over... the kind of record I’ll keep coming back to when I need to reset or just switch off the noise"

" Ross A.'s 'Heartland Girl' is a cinematic world of languid tranquility. Interestingly, while the track is a mellifluous flood or calm sound, there is a mild hint at delicate vulnerability."
- The Other Side Reviews
"Ross A’ s new track 'Vestiges’, hailing off of his debut album Vestige, is a weighty, moody song which shifts from loose, sparse arrangement at the track’s outset, into a tight groove where drums and bass lock in with piano before a stirring string arrangement lifts the piece further towards its ethereal finale, the soundscape opening out into a wide expanse along the way."
"Flowing To You, Flowing Through is richly elevated by ethereal synths and a lush strings section, with Ross' raw vocals reminiscent of Villagers, David Bowie and Father John Misty."
- Hot Press
"Ross A. is an evolutionary jump from his acoustic led singer songwriter days into an artist that lists Beck, Bowie, the Flaming Lips and Villagers as inspirations. The evidence is as clear as day on his class singles ‘Some Other Time, Maybe’ and ‘Flowing To You, Flowing Through’... it’s a brilliant return."
- The Goo Magazine
Vestige, the debut album by Irish singer-songwriter Ross A., is an aptly titled offering with its traces of something lost, rediscovered by journeying through abstract landscapes of memory.
Offering a heady brew of narrative-laden alternative folk, each of its eight tracks is a journey unto itself, while recurring themes interweave throughout its 44-minute runtime to create a captivating dreamscape. His influences, from Dylan to Morricone, are manifold and wide-ranging, yet they coalesce seamlessly to create a vibrant sonic environment that is both familiar and always surprising.
Produced with Gavin Glass at Orphan Studios in Co. Wexford, Ross A. reflects on the inception of Vestige and its meaning to him as an artist:
“This is a formative record for me. When the songs started to take shape, I felt liberated to write and track further, moving forward in this new mode. It all felt like a natural progression. I let go of hang-ups and ego, going with focus in the direction of my instinct for each song. The band and Gavin were a great help in guiding and bringing the pieces to life along with me. There was good energy in the recording room, a sense of flow to the sessions which was inspiring in the sense that it was as if the record came together of its own volition.
Hearing it myself now, it sounds good playing anywhere but really is designed to be the kind of album you can put on in your headphones, lie down, close your eyes, and become immersed in for a while as the stories unfold.”
Artfully crafted, Vestige guides a listener through a memorable musical journey, laden with imagery and landscape, metaphorical and otherwise.
The CD issue of Vestige is double-disc edition, with the second CD featuring instrumental versions of the album’s eight songs, plus a bonus track, ‘Vestiges Strings Outro Reprise’.
“When I listened to the mixes without vocals. I found it to be a relaxing, deep experience. Almost meditative. I thought it would be cool to offer that to the listener too. The record is lyrically dense, with focus naturally drawn often to words and vocals, so, the instrumental versions really allow subtle nuances of the sonic backdrop to be fully appreciated, showcasing how it serves as a great platform on which my stories could flourish.”
