The Thrash Blues,with Pete Holidai & Tony St Ledger, play the Alternative Sunday Social Club

The Thrash Blues deliver loud, loose and raw punk n’ roll. The Dublin duo - featuring Ro on vox & guitar and Liz on drums & vox - have been gigging as a rhythm section since 2011. Then, in 2013 Ro swapped his bass guitar for a six string and off they went to form a band of their own and The Thrash Blues was born.

Conscious of the obvious ‘Blues’ based comparisons, the couple began by stripping everything back to basics… taking their time and an acoustic approach to songwriting that seems a world away from the now electrified rumblings of their live show. Often said to sound like a band who can make a noise with two people that most bands can’t make with five, this sound is woven with their love of genres as diverse as Grindcore to Disco and the blend is there for all to decipher in their songs.

The Thrash Blues take influences from a broad spectrum of acts like The Stooges, Bad Brains, Talking Heads, James Brown, Funkadelic, Anthrax, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, U2, Queens of the Stone Age, Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, John Lee Hooker, Tom Waits, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Ramones and yet have carved a style and sound uniquely their own.
