About the event

Primary Teachers' Summer Course 2025: 1st - 5th of July, & 7th - 11th July
Dublin Zoo’s DES approved week-long summer course 2025: ‘Cultivating the Next Generation of Conservationists’.

This course aims to provide participants with active engagement in teaching and learning about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with an emphasis on conservation education. It provides participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to teach about nature and conservation in their classrooms. The course will assist teachers in fostering positive connections to nature in their classrooms and motivating their students towards pro-environmental actions.

Topics will be delivered by expert facilitators in our Conservation Education Centre and from our immersive living classroom, the grounds of Dublin Zoo. Teachers participating will have exclusive access to our state-of-the-art teaching spaces as well as the opportunity to explore the zoo after the daily programme.

Note: this course is aimed at those who teach 3rd – 6th class but all teachers are welcome.

We will have two separate weeks available to book. The content will be the same each week, we do not recommend booking both weeks. Please note that your ticket will be valid only for the date you book. We will do our best to accommodate changes to your booking but cannot guarantee a switch will be available. Please note that we cannot offer refunds for cancelled or unused tickets.
