Erchless Forest cottage to Cnoc Eille Mor

Approaching Struy on the A831, turn right into a graveled track end just after ‘One mile To Cnoc Hotel’ sign. Park at track end (NB - parking limited!) The track heads uphill through the forest to open moor, rising fairly steeply at first before levelling off somewhat. Coffee overlooking Lochan Fada. The track rises steeply again with two streams to cross before arriving at the top of the ridge with views to the west of the Glen Strathfarrar Munros. Then ¼ mile over rough ground to Cnoc Eille Mor for far-reaching 360° views. Higher up, the track is prone to flooding in places and could be boggy.
Important update: after the recent heavy rain, on the pre-walk we found both streams to be deep and fast flowing. The second stream was also much wider. ‘Feetz’/plastic bags and sticks may be needed and a change of socks could be advisable. If there is a lot of rain the walk may have to be stopped at the second stream, making it 7 miles but still offering a good climb and lovely views.
Parking is limited so please car share to ensure everyone who wants to walk can come.
