Fort Henry and Wheeling in the Revolution

Join us for an engaging presentation on the early history of Wheeling and Fort Henry!

In partnership with the Muskingum County Library System, Muskingum 250 and Muskingum County History are excited to welcome historian Jay Frey as he explores the crucial yet often-overlooked battles of Fort Henry during the American Revolution. Learn about the events that shaped Wheeling, West Virginia—the first city founded by Ebenezer Zane and home to many settlers of Muskingum County.

Jay will share the heroic stories of Samuel McCulloch and Betty Zane and shed light on Wheeling’s colonial and Revolutionary legacy. A lifelong history enthusiast, Jay has dedicated himself to preserving and promoting Wheeling's local heritage.
