Visible Mending for Garments

If you’re already comfortable with hand stitching or embroidery—and especially if you’ve played with sashiko or other visible mending styles—this workshop is for you. This Level 2 class is designed for folks who know their way around a needle and thread and are excited to turn those skills into thoughtful, eye-catching repairs on real clothes.

Join us on Thursday, February 26, from 6–8 p.m. for Visible Mending Basics for Garments, where we’ll focus on repairing denim and other woven pieces with stitches that are meant to be seen. You’ll work on fabric samples (not personal garments) as you learn how to reinforce worn spots before they blow out, practice marking and stitching on different fabrics (including thicker materials like denim), and explore simple ways to plan patches and mends that are sturdy, intentional, and beautiful.

We’ll keep the group small—just five students—so there’s plenty of time for questions, guidance, and slow-fashion inspiration, with all supplies included.

Class fee is $45
