জুলাই ২০২৪। স্বৈরাচারের বিরুদ্ধে ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর ৩৬ দিনের গণঅভ্যুত্থান। প্রাণ দিয়েছেন বহু নির্ভীক, আহত হয়েছেন অগণিত মানুষ। রক্তস্নাত সেই জুলাইয়ে স্বৈরাচারের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রুপ হয়ে উঠেছিল প্রতিরোধের অন্যতম হাতিয়ার। জনমানুষের কথা, সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমের স্ট্যাটাস, স্লোগান, ছবি, ভিডিও ফুটেজ, কার্টুন, মিম ও ছাত্র-জনতার আঁকা গ্রাফিতিতে খুঁজে পাওয়া যায় সেইসব বিদ্রুপের নিদর্শন।
জুলাইয়ের এক বছর পূর্তিতে এই বিদ্রুপাত্মক নিদর্শনগুলো নিয়ে ধানমন্ডির আলিয়ঁস ফ্রঁসেজ দ্য ঢাকায় eআরকি আয়োজন করছে ছয়দিনব্যাপী (৩১ জুলাই-৩৬ জুলাই) প্রদর্শনী ‘বিদ্রুপে বিদ্রোহ'। যা আপনাকে আবারও মনে করিয়ে দেবে বিদ্রুপ হলো ক্ষমতাসীনের বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষমতাহীনের লড়াইয়ের অন্যতম সেরা অস্ত্র।
প্রদর্শনীতে আরও থাকছে গণঅভ্যুত্থানের গান, কবিতা, ভিডিওচিত্র, ড্রামা কুইনের লাইভ ড্রামাসহ হরেক লাইভ অ্যাক্টিভিটি; সঙ্গে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য নানা স্যুভেনির।

July 2024—A 36-day mass uprising against authoritarian rule. Many brave souls gave their lives, and countless others were injured. In that bloodstained July, satire emerged as one of the most powerful tools of resistance against tyranny. The voices of the people—through social media posts, slogans, photos, video footage, cartoons, memes, and graffiti—carried the unmistakable mark of defiance and political protest through satire.
On the first anniversary of the July uprising, Earki is organizing a six-day exhibition titled ‘Bidrupe Bidroho’ (The Power of Satire) at Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi between 31–36 July. This exhibition brings together those powerful satirical expressions, reminding us once again that satire is among the sharpest weapons in the hands of the powerless against the powerful.
The exhibition will also feature protest songs, poems, video installations, live performances including 'Drama Queen' (Naatok Kom Koro Piyo) and many other engaging activities.
