We are excited to announce the 1st S.N. Bose National Science Festival-2025 is a national-level celebration of science, creativity, and youth innovation, Organised by Biggan Adda. This four-days event will be held on 22-25 May 2025 at the historic Curzon Hall area, University of Dhaka.
This is going to be an annual celebration of science curiosity, innovation and collaboration, held in honour of the legendary scientist Satayedra Nath Bose. Bringing together students, researchers, educators, and science enthusiasts from across the country, this festival creates a vibrant platform for sharing ideas, conducting experiments, and showcasing breakthroughs in science and technology.

1) Science Olympiad:
- Contestants of all categories can participate in this segment. Must participate individually.
- In this Olympiad, there will be a total of 100 marks exam in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, ICT & Mental Ability.
- The examination paper will be both multiple choice and creative format.
- The language of the question paper will be both Bengali and English.

- A group can have a maximum of 3 participants.
- Projects must focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Innovation, New Bussiness Idea or Other Similiar Things.
- Can be working models, prototypes, software, or conceptual models. Must address real-world problems or offer novel solutions.
- Each team gets 5–10 minutes to present and demonstrate their project to judges.Followed by 2–5 minutes of Q&A.
- Participants can explain their project by showing it live or through a slide show.
Judge must be evaluate by those criteria:
- Originality & Innovation (20%), Scientific Thought (20%)
- Practical Application (20%), Presentation & Clarity (15%)
- Teamwork & Communication (15%), Sustainability or Social Impact (10%)
- Projects must be original; copied work will be disqualified.
- Ethical considerations (no harmful substances or misleading data).

- Must participate as a Team. A group can have a maximum of 3 people.
- This segment will be in 2 rounds. In the Preliminary round, with be conducted with the help of multimedia. Questions shown in screen/ projector needs to be written in answerscript. Answer script and pen will be provided by the organizers.
- Quizmaster holds the right and authority of decisions while conducting a session.
- Teams participating without registration will be penalised even if they qualify for the final round.
- The top 4/8 teams from each category will advance to the 2nd round (Buzzer round).

7) CHESS Contest(Open)
- Open international rated chess Tournament will be held.
- Tournament Format: 9 Round swiss league rapid(rated) Tournament.
- Time Control: 10 minutes + Every move, 10 second increment.
- Pairing System will use a Swiss system Manager. Every player will play every round.
- Touch and Move rule will follow.
- 1st Illegal Move will count for Time Punishment 1 minute, 2nd illegal move by the same player losses the game.
- Prize Money will not share with others, tie breaking system will follow
- Cell Phone must be in Silent Mode, Game will be losses if phone ring in the playing time.
- Fide Rules of Chess will be follow accordingly.

Open to all ages and skill levels Participants must bring their own cubes (non-programmable)
Competition Rules & Format:
- Each participant gets 5 attempts
- The average of those 5 times will be used for scoring (best and worst will be deducted and the average of the remaining three solves will be counted)
- For Blindfolded solving, Best of three system will be followed.
- 15 seconds of inspection time will be given before each solve
- 2 or more rounds may be held depending on the number of participants
- WCA-style penalties will apply
- Cube breaking during solve will result in disqualification
- Final decisions rest with the event delegates and organizing team
- WCA rules will be strictly followed.
