We are thrilled to welcome you to “AURORA: A Distinguished Lecturer Program on Adaptive Electronics for Embedded Architectures”, led by none other than Prof. Muhammad Mustafa Hussain, global Pioneer in Flexible Electronics and a visionary in the world of smart, flexible, and future-ready electronics. Organised by IEEE NSU Student Branch, WIE Affinity Group in collaboration with IEEE NSU Student Branch, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University, this program is about imagining a world where electronics are as adaptable and resilient as nature itself.
In this session, Prof. Hussain will take us on a journey through the groundbreaking project AURORA, an initiative that rethinks how we design electronics for extreme and constantly changing environments. Whether it’s within the human body, deep in the ocean, or out in space, AURORA envisions electronic systems that can survive, adapt, and even heal themselves, much like living organisms. The session will unpack how this vision is being turned into reality through cutting-edge innovations: from flexible 3D-integrated circuits that can twist and bend without breaking, to liquid metal-enabled systems that can reshape their function on the fly. You’ll learn how wearable health monitors, biodegradable sensors, and self-healing chips are paving the way for electronics that are not only intelligent, but also sustainable and human-friendly.
This is more than a technical talk, it’s a rare opportunity to reflect on the future of electronics in a deeply human context. How can technology become more in tune with our bodies, our planet, and our unpredictable world? What if our electronics could adapt, evolve, and even regenerate, just like we do?
Prof. Hussain’s engaging storytelling, real-world examples, and visionary thinking promise to leave you inspired and excited about what lies ahead in the field of embedded systems.
Key Takeaways:
1.Understand the principles behind adaptive and resilient electronic architectures
2.Learn about flexible 3D-IC systems and their role in embedded technologies
