Prescribed Grazing 101

We are excited to announce this free learning opportunity as part of our Community Resilience Workshop Series! Join us at Lost Valley Education Center next Sunday with Drew Thomas of Calico Creek Grazing Collective and the Center for Rural Livelihoods, to learn about prescribed grazing and the multitude of benefits it can offer.

Participants will get to watch a flock of sheep at work at Lost Valley while learning that through the thoughtful management of grazers, you can reduce wildfire risk, improve pasture and rangelands, and restore native habitats. We’ll also discuss considerations for those interested in implementing prescribed grazing, including where to graze, which livestock, how many, what seasons, and for how long.
