In 2023, Michigan recorded 2,896 deaths related to opioid overdoses. With greater awareness and quicker response, some of these lives may have been saved.
This free Narcan training equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to act in a critical moment. Attendees will learn how to recognize an opioid overdose, administer naloxone (Narcan), and take basic supportive steps until help arrives. Naloxone can temporarily reverse the effects of opioids and may give a person a second chance at life.
The session also covers Michigan’s Good Samaritan Law and explains the legal protections in place for individuals who assist during an overdose emergency. Whether you know someone at risk or simply want to help your community, this workshop offers a practical path to preparedness.
