Join us on Saturday, April 26th, from 12 - 2:30 PM at the Shepherd for a "Day of Dreaming" workshop with artist Alisha B. Wormsley in partnership with Sibyls Shrine.
In this workshop, Alisha will lead participants in creating Dream Pillows and Dream Medicine Bags, ancestral crafts that enhance dreaming. The session will cover the cultural and plant medicine aspects of these practices, along with basic rituals to activate them.
Participants will then use their Dream Pillows and Bags in a lucid dreaming meditation, followed by submitting their dreams for inclusion in Wormsley and Kite’s Cosmologyscape installation as part of "Warp and Weft: Technologies within Textiles,” contributing to the Detroit community quilt.
Materials will be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring a yoga mat or blanket/pillow for comfort. Open to all ages, but limited to 25 attendees.
Sibyls Shrine is an arts residency and collective for Black Artists who M/other, founded by Alisha Wormsley and developed with Jessica Gaynelle Moss.
