🧶 Make a Tug Toy for Your Pup
DIY rope toys from fleece + recycled tees!
This is a FREE event! One set of supplies is free for each attendee. Additional sets can be purchased if you'd like to make more!
Join us for a quick, creative activity where you’ll learn how to make a braided tug toy for your dog using soft fleece strips. It’s a fun, beginner-friendly project that takes about 15–20 minutes, no crafting experience needed!
At the workshop, we’ll provide everything you need to make your first toy using strips of fleece or recycled tees - your choice! If you’d like to take the fun home, we’ll also send you with step-by-step instructions to make more toys later using your own old t-shirts or scrap fabric.
Need materials to take home? We’ve got pre-cut strip sets available for $5 each.
This activity is for humans only. Dogs are welcome in our store, but if you have an impatient pup they may prefer to wait at home for their new toy.
Be sure to RSVP 'Going' to this event so we can be sure to have enough supplies for everyone!
🐾 Are Rope Toys Safe for Dogs?
Rope toys are great for tug games and interactive play, but like all toys, they should be used under supervision. If your dog tends to chew and swallow pieces, it’s important to keep an eye out. Swallowing strands of fabric can cause dangerous stomach/intestine issues.
Here’s how to keep play safe:
- Use rope toys during supervised playtime
- Take the toy away if your dog starts tearing it apart
- Toss and replace the toy once it gets too frayed
Did you know? Dogs are welcome in our store!
Note: All dogs must be on a leash and well-behaved. Hiking Dog Co. is not responsible for any injury or accident to any visitors or their dogs. All dogs must be under the control of their humans at all times. Misbehaving and/or unsafe dogs will be asked to leave. Entering our store is your agreement to this.
