Frankie Gavin Frankie Gavin has been playing fiddle and flute since his teens, winning All-Ireland titles for both at just seventeen. Influenced early on by legends like James Morrison and Michael Coleman, heβs gone on to perform with icons such as The Rolling Stones, Earl Scruggs, Les Paul, StΓ©phane Grappelli, James Galway, and Yehudi Menuhin. His distinctive, genre-crossing style reflects these diverse influences.
In 2010, Gavin set a world record as the fastest fiddle player, performing The Foxhunterβs Reel at 150 beats per minute. Heβs played for four U.S. presidentsβstarting with JFK at age sixβalongside dignitaries like President Mitterrand, King Charles III, Prince Albert of Monaco, and even the Pope.
Heβs best known as the founder of De Dannan , the world-renowned Irish traditional band still active today. One of his recent works, The Princess Grace Symphonic Suite , premiered with the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2022 and is expected to tour internationally.
