Before lockdown hit in 2020 Kíla had showcased at Folk Alliance in New Orleans, and were due to perform at Lá ‘Le Pádraig festivals in Paris. London Dublin and Kilkenny just as the Covid-19 lockdown hit causing the cancelation of over 60 gigs. But some of the high points that years was the winning the IFTA for
Best Original Score for Tom Ó Súileabháin’s feature Arracht which was Ireland’s entry to the Oscar’s in the foreign language film category., They finished their collaboration with composer Bruno Coulais on Cartoon Saloon’s latest animated feature, Wolfwalkers which won numerous awards and was nominated for an Annie (America’s most respected animation awards) for best music. To help quench the lockdown thirst for live music they recorded 6 concerts during the lockdown period culminating in a Wolfwalkers themed concert which was broadcast online and aired in all the Irish ambassadorial residencies and at Lá ‘le Pádraig gatherings worldwide .
Adair
A quirky & exquisite, spectacular solo theatrical/musical performance, we introduce the 2025 Irish Tour of “Adair” – based on the Irish Goddess of the same name. Curated, directed and performed by artist, creative visionary, composer, mythical songstress and healer, Maighread Ni Ghrasta who hails from the far reaches of County Donegal. A blend of ancient lore and ritual, infused with modern magic, Maighread will take the audience, through the art of ceremony to a world of realisation and re-awakening of what lies deep within their soul.Maighread has achieved international acclaim as the powerful female vocalist of the blues rock duo Blackbird & Crow. A five year absence from the stage to focus on her creative works and solo career has left fans in limbo, eagerly awaiting her return to the stage to captivate them once more. Now it’s time!

The Dead Thatchers
While their righteous anger is aimed at similar targets and their musical approach couldn’t be further from Reality Asylum. The same punk attitude is present, which at the end of the day is really what punk is, an ethos, not a look or a sound. Queue a pile on about what punk really is… or isn’t… Anyway, other than that punk attitude, the band are nigh on impossible to pigeonhole. Cherry picking what they see fit to match the message and passion behind the songs/spoken word performances.
