Cow Country King - Earl E. Hackett

On Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 2 pm, the Derby Historical Society will host a talk by local historian Dr. Allen Yale who will present “The Cow Country King: Earl E Hackett.” Yale says: “What got me interested in this topic was when I was thumbing through a1959 Town of Derby lister’s notebook, that had been donated to the Derby Historical Society, by the Derby Town Clerk, I learned that Earl E Hackett had twenty-five times more cows than the average farmer in Derby and fourteen times more than the second largest farmer. I wanted to know how he got this big and just how big he got.” Come see what Dr. Yale found out.
