Visiting Artist Series: Appliqued Unique Batik Workshop with Camisha Butler

We're excited to welcome Camisha Butler to ASLD for a special Appliquéd Unique Batik workshop, happening June 28–29 from 10AM to 4:30PM as part of our Visiting Artist Series.

In this two-day hands-on workshop, you'll dive into fabric dyeing, resist methods, and the art of batik using wax-resist techniques to create beautifully textured textiles. Along the way, we’ll explore immersion dyeing, appliqué stitching, and embroidery to build layered, one-of-a-kind compositions.

Whether you're an experienced textile artist or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to explore traditional craft methods while developing your own creative voice. You'll leave with a finished stitched piece and a fresh perspective on the possibilities of textile art.
