Custer Gold Discovery Days Hot Air Balloon Launch
July 19 & 20, 2025
Join us for the Custer Gold Discovery Days. The week long event hosts vendors, live music and more, with a weekend hot air balloon launch from Custer's Pageant Hill; a park located in the town of Custer. The launch is weather permitting and location may change due to wind direction. Spectators and passengers are welcome for the 'weather permitting' balloon launch. Balloons will launch just after sunrise.
Do you want to fly?
You can fly! Spots are limited; reservations are required. Call 605-673-2520 to book. Cost is $375 per adult. Flight is approx one hour and weather permitting. For more information on flying with Black Hills Balloons, check out www.blackhillsballoons.com.
Do you want to be a spectator?
Spectators should plan on arriving just prior to sunrise for perfect viewing. Bring a chair, your coffee and a camera. Viewing is free and welcome to all ages. NEW THIS YEAR: Balloon Trading Cards! Ask the pilot or crew of each balloon for a free trading card - collecting them all and learn more about the balloons and pilots flying the event.
