River is excited to be back facilitating a DREAMTIME edition of Dance Temple this Sunday at Cumberland Cultural Centre. Come kick off your shoes, breathe deep and let go into the magic of movement together. All are welcome!
*This is River's last dance of 2025 ~ let's create MAGIC.
*This dance journey will start slow and low, cultivating deep listening within and to Mother Earth. Gradually inviting fluidity and fire, we will build. If you're seeking a "super fast + firey" dance from the get-go, this may not be for you. But if you'd like to luxuriate in the delicious, slow, sensual build of energy, this is for YOU. **

INTO THE DREAMTIME ::

As we journey into the growing darkness of winter, Nature calls us to slow down, exhale and deeply listen. We are entering the seasonal descent into the Dreamtime. Magic and Mystery awaits.
Fallen leaves lie rotting on the forest floor, their decaying skins returning to wet soil. Now is not the time for action, achievement and growth ~ instead you are invited to trust your heaviness, welcome humility, and allow the deeper wisdom of Soil and Soul to speak to you.
Time to listen, ask questions in the dark, and allow the whispers of ancestors and guides in the Dreamtime to speak to you. What guidance do they want to whisper in your ear? How will they support your next steps? Nature is our co-guide, as we reconnect with the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Spirit. All are welcome.

You are invited to bring an object from Nature that connects you to the Dreamtime, or any object that lights you up. These will be charged up with our collective energy through our dance, and you can take them home at the end to carry the energy with you.

In this space we collectively agree to:
*Develop compassion, awareness, acceptance
*Deepen into a body-centred meditation
*No talking on the dance floor
*Barefoot preferred.
*No cellphones
*No instruments
*No photography
*No drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants.
ON BOUNDARIES & TOUCH:
We recognise that touch and physical proximity can mean different things to different people. In this space we practice self-awareness of our own bodies, and the ways in which we engage with the moving bodies of others. We define consent as freely given, enthusiastic agreement for mutual participation.
WHEN APPROACHING OTHERS:
Make no assumptions!
Look for a yes, look for eye contact
Respect any no (including when someone is ignoring you or moves away from you.) Respect a Solo Dancer’s right to their space. Do not engage in physical touch without clear consent.
This is a transformational space for dance, healing, prayer, laughter, joy, sadness and everything in between.
