WHAT TO EXPECT
Developed as a healing art, qigong is a gentle movement practice that strengthens your vital energy (qi). Similar to tai chi, it is usually practiced slowly while standing, but because it does not involve a specific sequence of movements it tends to be simpler to learn. No experience needed.
Following an hour of standing qigong practice, we will settle onto the floor to learn a few self-acupressure points. (A couple chairs will be available if needed.) The workshop will conclude with a brief meditation, either seated or supine, in which a mini meridian massage on the arms/hands will be offered.
WHAT TO BRING
Wear comfortable clothing. Clean shoes or bare feet are fine. No equipment is required for qigong itself, but for the end of the workshop, please bring a mat/blanket to lie on and a block/cushion to sit on if you have any. Some mats and cushions will be available if needed, as well as a couple chairs.
