Blindfold jams are special opportunities to dive deeper into the mysteries of somatic relational space. Without our dominant sense-door ruling the roost, we can feel, track & explore the flow of sensation (both internal & external) more precisely and deeply. Blindfold jams are also an opportunity to practice choosing authenticity, as the blindfold helps tune in to our inner knowing.
Contact Improvisation (CI) is a partner dance form based on the physical principles of touch, momentum, shared weight and following a shared point of contact.
We will always have at least 3 people without blindfolds on to maintain the safety of the space. We will also start with group Safety & Ground Rules and a warm-up about how to use blindfolds to enhance your experience while staying safe.
There will be some blindfolds available but please bring your own if you have one.
Jeff Doff has been dancing contact improvisation for over 20 years and has taught throughout New England & in Austria.
Michael Swerdloff has been a DJ for over thirty years & enjoys the experience of providing a soundscape for Contact Improvisation as a catalyst for connection and creativity.
