REVERBERATION Song Circle returns!
Thursday, December 11, 7 - 8:30 pm, at Creekside Commons.
Reverberation is a monthly, drop-in song circle in Courtenay.
Joyfully, playfully, we sing about important things - songs that reverberate and echo through our minds, hearts and bodies, and have lasting impact on our thoughts and feelings. Songs that connect us to nature, community and ourselves.
The songs are simply beautiful, featuring meaningful lyrics, resonant harmonies and joyful inter-weaving of sound. My intention is that the songs, and the experience of singing them in community, bring you peace, joy and connection, and an experiential exploration of the theme.
With this session, we are Moving Towards Solstice. The dark is a huge force in our world right now, both literally and metaphorically, and yet light is still to be found. Here is my poem - one line drawn from each song we will sing. It sums up the theme well.
We sit in this circle,
Dreaming darkness, dreaming light.
Dreams burn bright -
Bright the hawk’s flight.
Let your bright heart burn,
Keep the light of hope alive,
The sun is rising up.
