Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar 2025—La Serenissima: Vivaldi-Fest, Classical Quartets

Join us for Quartet Night at the Gardens! Reserve your seat from 45 minutes before concert time, and stroll the Gardens with a glass of wine or sparkling water, or two, before experiencing our first evening of string quartets “done differently” chamber soirée within Corona del Mar’s treasured botanical oasis.

Presenting masterful string quartets by Boccherini, Haydn and Mozart in their socio-historical context, this program is focused around the musically enthusiastic and “cellistically” accomplished Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm, who was the nephew and successor of King Friedrich the Great. Baroque-Classical composer Luigi Boccherini was additionally a cellist; Haydn’s “The Bird” starts with a lovely cello tune; and Mozart’s last three string quartets, which include K.575 in D Major, were dedicated to Kaiser Friedrich.
