Screening of "Dovbush" at Palads Cinema

We’re proud to bring the grand historical epic “Dovbush” — one of the most ambitious and visually stunning Ukrainian films ever made — to Copenhagen’s iconic cinema Palads.

In the movie, director Oles Sanin brings to life the legend of Oleksa Dovbush — a Carpathian outlaw who became a symbol of justice and freedom for his people. Set in the 18th century, the film follows Oleksa and his brother Ivan as they rise against oppression. One seeks justice, the other — gold. Between love and betrayal, rebellion and faith, their legend is born.

More than just a tale of the past, “Dovbush” speaks to today — to the enduring human fight for dignity. A legend about the hero that lived and cheated death, of courage, loyalty, and the timeless need to live freely on one’s land, just as Ukrainians today defend the right to do so.

Радо запрошуємо переглянути неймовірну українську стрічку “Довбуш” в легендарному кінотеатрі Копенгагена Palads.

У фільмі режисер Олесь Санін оживлює легенду про Олексу Довбуша – карпатського опришка, який у свій час став символом справедливого лідера. Події розгортаються у XVIII столітті й розповідають історію Олекси та його брата Івана, що повстали проти гніту. Один прагне справедливості, а інший – золота. Між любов’ю і зрадою, бунтом і вірою народжується легенда.

Та “Довбуш” – не лише історія минулого. Це фільм про сьогодення – про вічну боротьбу людини за гідність і свободу. Про героя, який жив та перемагав смерть. Про незламну силу духу, вірність і прагнення жити вільно на своїй землі – так само, як і сьогодні українці захищають це право в бою.
