MORTEN JÆGER
Morten Jaeger is a Copenhagen-based songwriter and producer. His new album “Embrace the Darkness” revolves around the average 40-something life, with a focus on masculinity and men’s issues – in their careers, their love lives, or just midlife in general.
As a storyteller, Morten Jaeger explores unusual yet relatable narratives such as office burnout, self-medicating with alcohol, taking the first trip to IKEA after the divorce, trying to date younger women (and failing), etc. Every story is delivered with a careful balancing of vulnerability and dark humour. Lyrically, he finds his place between the sensitive and the cynical, not unlike songwriters such as Morrissey, John Grant, Lou Reed and Father John Misty.
Musically, Morten Jaeger moves seamlessly between classic songwriting, spoken word and cinematic soundscapes with voices and atmospheric footage.
