J.H. Patton & The Good Companions is a Michigan-based rock group formed in early 2023 by guitarist and songwriter J.H. Patton, bassist Kurtis Young, and drummer Peter Shutt. Blending elements of Rock, Americana, Roots, Blues, and more, the band creates an exciting live atmosphere that is unique to each show. You won't want to miss this band live!
In early 2024, J.H. Patton & The Good Companions released their first EP, Live from Dogtown, recorded live in Grand Rapids' Dogtown Studio. Just a few months later, the band released a second EP; California Green. Recorded above a garage in the summer of 2023, California Green is a collection of some of the first songs written for The Good Companions.

Jeffrey Forrester Tobin is a singer-songwriter from Columbus, Ohio with a penchant for writing humorous, quirky lyrics, often with a sprinkling of social commentary. His approach to songwriting guarantees him zero chance of pop radio stardom, but for people looking for a fun, momentary escape from the pressures of life, he’s just the ticket. With a wide range of influences from Randy Newman and Dawes to Monty Python, his songs are rooted in Americana, but often veer into rock, country, psychedelia or whatever seems appropriate to convey a song’s idea. A unique voice in the Columbus singer-songwriter scene, he has garnered top honors at the Ohio Music Awards, the Columbus Bicentennial Song Contest, and he performs regularly at clubs and festivals throughout Central Ohio.

The Tape Cassettes blast out a high-octane brand of garage rock born from the grit of Portsmouth, Ohio, and the surrounding Appalachian landscape. Imagine a raw blend of 60's psychedelic rock, bluesy swagger, and punk rock fury, all cranked through a wall of fuzz. With influences ranging from the proto-punk energy of the MC5 and The Who to the blues-rock mastery of Jimi Hendrix and the rootsy soul of The Band, their sound is a potent mix of explosive jams, loud, fuzz-drenched guitars, and bumping drums. Sometimes even described as "cowpunk," their music is a raw, visceral experience.
