In partnership with the African American Foundation and Black History Columbus, we are celebrating the official opening of the Black Heritage Trail! Based on Paulette Roberts’ original research and additional work by Jim Nickol and Tami Iorio, ten bronze markers will be placed during late May June that honor locations of Black Heritage in the downtown Columbus community.
To mark the opening of the Black Heritage Trail, there will be a short ceremony at 5:30 pm with remarks from Paulette Roberts, Brenda Pitts, and others before a ribbon cutting to celebrate the trail’s opening.
Afterwards, we will celebrate with DJ Smooth G and food and drink from Elev8, Lemondae Bros, Stunna's Meal Prep, and Jack Rabbits in the newly renovated Arts Alley.
Info: Music by DJ Smooth G, food by Stunna's Meal Prep and Jack Rabbits, and drinks by Elev8 and Lemonade Bros.
Info: Remarks by Paulette Roberts, Mayor Mary Ferdon, Brenda Pitts, and others followed by a ribbon cutting.
