Join us on Saturday, June 21st between 1 PM to 3 PM and meet Lawrence "Mitch" Mieczkowski, MD, author of The Room on the Right: A Memoir of Despair, Hope, and Reckoning in the Face of Abuse, Trauma, and PTSD.

The Room on the Right is at once harrowing and hopeful as it chronicles his eight-year journey of counseling that began in 2001 at the height of his career as a physician. He was fortunate to find a gifted psychiatrist in Cincinnati who helped him confront and eventually heal from an abusive childhood and adulthood trauma under the shadow of complex PTSD. He grew up in Steubenville, Ohio, one of the rust-belt towns on the Ohio River. After undergraduate work at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, he attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and then did five additional years of research and training in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati before he moved to Dayton in 1987, holding positions at Wright State University School of Medicine and Kettering Medical Center before opening his private practice in Kettering in 1997.

As June is National PTSD Awareness Month, this book is published just in time to advance the conversation about what living with PTSD looks and feels like and how it is treated.
