Second Century Society - 5/6/25

Have you heard of the Second Century Society? If you’ve been a past member, you already know what a great opportunity this club offers for keeping in touch with Clemson University.

If you aren’t a past member, let me fill you in: In 1989, a dedicated group of Clemson alumni and friends in the Columbia area formed an organization called The Second Century Society. Their goal was to provide a forum for Clemson to share its message with alumni and friends of Clemson. It is a networking opportunity as well as an opportunity to learn what is going on in the academic and research fields at our school and what you can do to help Clemson accomplish its mission. Membership is open to all that share an interest in Clemson.

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 6 for our fifth and final lunch of the 2024/2025 season. We will hear from Clemson University's Director of Creative Inquiry + Undergraduate Research & Associate Director of the Watt Family Innovation Center, Dr. Barbara Speziale.

Time: Doors Open 11:45am / Program Begins approx. 12:00pm

Where: 300 building at Senate’s End (316 Senate Street, Columbia, SC 29201) *NOTE – different building than previous meetings

Single lunches or guest lunches can be purchased for $30 each.

*Young Alumni Discount (if you’ve graduated in the last 10 years): Young Alumni can receive a $5 discount on a single lunch at just $25. No discount code needed, just select YA Lunch at checkout and enter graduation year.

2) PAY AT EVENT: Venmo, check or card to the event. Please RSVP in advance! *NOTE - starting July 1, 2025 - we will no longer accept cash at events.

As this is our final lunch of the season – we would welcome any feedback and speaker suggestions as we begin to plan for the 2025 / 2026 Second Century Society lunch club season. If you would like to provide feedback / suggestions – please email them to Y3VhbHVtbmlldmVudHMgfCBjbGVtc29uICEgZWR1 or submit them in person on May 6. The 2025 / 2026 season will start in September 2025 with 5 lunch meetings running through May 2026. Be on the lookout for communication in August.
