Join us for the first installment of our FREE 2025 Summer Bash Dance Series
by the Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers
Need to get out of the house, move your body and do something fun, FREE, and … air conditioned?!
Thanks to the City of Columbia, Office of Cultural Affairs, We are offering a free dance series this summer!
In July, we’ll offer two Balfolkdances. A Balfolk is a “Folk Ball” with European Folk dances for adults and teens. You will learn mazurkas, schottisches, polkas, bourrées, Circassian circles, and more! Bring a friend, or not, but plan to have fun!
Saturday, July 19 and Saturday July 26 – 7:30 pm to 10:00pm
At the Columbia Independent School, 1801 N. Stadium, Columbia
In August, we’ll offer two Family Dances: These are social dances for all ages designed to be simple but fun. Lots of clapping, stomping, hooting and hollering. Children learn to listen, follow directions, and cooperate while moving their bodies and using their outside voices! Parents enjoy the connections made with their children in a safe environment that fuels barely controlled excitement. All children must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 16 or above.
Saturday, August 2, and Saturday, August 30 – 6pm to 8 p.m
at the Columbia Independent School, 1801 N. Stadium, Columbia
