The opening reception features recent remnant works, mixed-media paintings and an all-new large-scale installation. This work recontextualizes discarded materials and household goods to examine the relationship between consumer culture and the stability of the individual.

Breathing new life into cast offs, Watkins addresses the concept of 'The American Dream' inviting viewers to confront the reality of life without basic needs. "This is "MATERIAL MALADY [Use Phase (waiting)]."
