Book Talk + Signing with Kevin Sack: "Mother Emanuel"

Join us June 5th at 6pm in Allen University's Boeing Center auditorium in the Waverly-Clyburn Building for a book talk and signing with Kevin Sack, author of Mother Emanuel: Two Centuries of Race, Resistance, and Forgiveness in One Charleston Church. Kevin will be in conversation with Dr. Bobby J. Donaldson.

Kevin Sack is a veteran journalist who has written broadly about national affairs for more than four decades and has shared in three Pulitzer Prizes. Sack spent 30 years on the staff of The New York Times, where he was a senior writer, and worked previously for the Los Angeles Times and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. His work also has been featured in The New York Times Magazine.

A native of Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Bobby J. Donaldson received his undergraduate degree in History and African-American Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and his Ph.D. in American History from Emory University where he served on the staff of the Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project. Previously, he held the Thurgood Marshall Fellowship at Dartmouth College and the Susan Biddle Ford Fellowship at the W. E. B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University.
