Book Launch Party with Ed Madden: "Arkansas Luggage"

Join Ed for a launch party at All Good Books on Friday, May 23, 6pm. An introduction will be given by poet Ray McManus, followed by a short reading and snacks.

In "Arkansas Luggage", a heady mixture of essay and poetry, Ed Madden travels between his native Arkansas and Ireland while examining the baggage of his own upbringing as a gay man.

Ed Madden is a professor of English at the University of South Carolina and author of six books of poetry, most recently A pooka in Arkansas (Word Works), selected for the Hilary Tham Capital Collection book prize, and A Story of the City (Muddy Ford), a collection of poems from work as the inaugural poet laureate for the City of Columbia, 2015-2022. He has received a Poet Laureate Fellowship from the Academy of American Poets, the SC Governor's Award for the Arts, and arts residencies in Brazil and in Ireland. He is currently working on a history of LGBTQ Columbia.
