With a catchy rock score from Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Last Five Years, The Bridges of Madison County) and a hilarious book by Tony winner Robert Horn (Tootsie, Shucked) and Dan Elish (13), 13 JR. tells a timeless story about fitting in - and standing out!
Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents' divorce. Now the new kid at school, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain... or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!?
A true coming-of-age musical, 13 JR. is made especially for adolescents with a universal message about friendship and being true to yourself.

AUDITION DATES: May 31 and June 1, 2PM, Seidule Theatre, Brazosport College
REHEARSALS: Monday through Thursday, 12-2PM, June 2 to July 10 (off July 3-5)
PERFORMANCES: July 11-13.
PREPARE: Nothing! We’ll teach a brief song from the show and have everyone sing it and then read from the script. There will be a short, fun movement combination.
SEEKING: Actors aged 12-18
EVAN
A bright boy who is excited to become a man. New in town and trying to find a place to fit in, he eventually becomes close with Patrice and Archie.
PATRICE
A shy, intelligent, bookworm. Archie's best friend and Evan's new friend.
BRETT
The vain star quarterback. Leads a pack of popular boys, including Malcolm and Eddie.
MALCOLM
A wannabe popular kid and one of Brett's sidekicks.
EDDIE
A wannabe popular kid and one of Brett's sidekicks.
KENDRA
The bubbly, popular, head cheerleader. Lucy's best friend and unknowing rival.
ARCHIE
A good-humored, intelligent, unpopular kid. Patrice's best friend who has to use crutches.
LUCY
A manipulative girl who secretly desires to have Kendra's boyfriend. Sneaky and feisty.
