Cirencester History festival - Beyond the Arts and Crafts Scene

The Civic Society are delighted to sponser one of the History Festival events on Thursday October 30th 9.30 to 11.30 am - Beyond the Arts and Crafts Scene. Enjoy a brunch hot drink and pastries with longstanding members Sarah Beadsmoore, textile designer and weaver, and Valerie Michael, author of The Leatherworking Handbook and designer/maker of hand stitched leather goods. Hear them talk about the history of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen and what it means to them, woven in with stories of trips to Japan, Thailand and even an appearance on the Fourth Plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square.
