Armenian-born pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz. Blending fiery improvisation and progressive rock energy with the rich folk traditions of his homeland, Hamasyan creates music that’s both deeply rooted and strikingly modern.

A former winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition and the Montreux Jazz Festival’s Piano Competition, he has released acclaimed albums including A Fable, Shadow Theater, and Luys i Luso. Praised by legends like Herbie Hancock and the late Chick Corea, Hamasyan’s sound defies categories — “you’ll hear nothing else like this” (NPR).
