Good Trouble: A First-Hand Account from Freedom Rider David Fankhauser

May 1961: Integrated groups of Freedom Riders challenged segregationist laws in the South. They were met with KKK violence, with the approval of law enforcement.

19 year old David Fankhauser, sitting with black friends in the white waiting room in Jackson, Mississippi, was arrested and imprisoned for 42 days.
