G. Love & Special Sauce Live at Ludlow Garage

G. Love & Special Sauce is an American hip-hop blues band known for its unique mix of hip-hop, blues, funk, and soul. Formed in 1993 in Philadelphia, the band features Garrett Dutton (aka G. Love) on vocals and guitar, Jeffrey Clemens on drums, and Jim Prescott on bass. The trio quickly gained attention for their laid-back grooves and G. Love’s signature blend of bluesy singing and rap-inspired delivery.

Known for their energetic live shows, G. Love & Special Sauce have played major festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. G. Love also collaborates frequently with artists like Jack Johnson and continues to explore his deep blues roots through solo projects.

Opening for G. Love & Special Sauce, we have Special Guest Makua Rothman, a WSL Big Wave Champion from Oahu’s North Shore, turned to music after a 2023 knee injury. Working with multi-platinum producer Jimmy Messer, he’s created a sound that blends reggae, rock, rap, and soul. In 2024, he opened Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Festival and in 2025 released “Clear the Air” with Wiz Khalifa before launching his international tour.
