THE HEART OF BENJAMIN BRITTEN

A program of music by Benjamin Britten including selections from his "Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings," "A Charm of Lullabies," and the complete "Canticle II: Abraham and Isaac." The recital concludes with the 1983 Peter Pears Authorized Edition of The Heart of the Matter, which incorporates Horn Prelude and Postlude, 3 additional songs, dramatic readings of poems by Edith Sitwell from "The Two Loves," and incorporates Britten's "Canticle III: Still Falls the Rain," for Tenor, French Horn, Dramatic Reader, and Piano."
