As many of you know, Lauren Shmalo Berg holds such a special place in my heart. She inspires me every single day to be a better person. She’s also the one who looked me in the eye after meeting my sweet Ellen Whitney in Maine years ago, and said, “you better put a ring on it.” That’s Lauren—honest, loving, funny and always lifting up the people around her.
Her husband Justin and their kids, Lia and Isaac, mean so much to me too. The battle they face together as a family is something you wish no one would ever have to go through. And yet, they show more strength, love, and courage than I can put into words.
That’s why this event means so much. It’s for Lauren, Justin, Lia, and Isaac.
