About the Speaker:

Tracey Jumper is a Certified Commissioning Professional with 25 years of experience that began in design, advanced to the technical specialty of commissioning, and evolved to leadership in launching quality-driven departments and companies. Raised in a single-parent household in Scranton, Pennsylvania (Anthracite Chapter), Tracey was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning an Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State University while working various construction jobs.

In 2023, Tracey accepted her current role as a Global Director of Data Center Commissioning at Microsoft. There, she launched a new team to oversee first-of-kind data center projects. She previously supervised the Commissioning Division for EMCOR, a division she co-founded. In addition to founding her own firm, Jump-Start Building Commissioning, Tracey has been instrumental in establishing multiple successful commissioning enterprises. Her clients span notable organizations such as the NFL, NASA, NBC, Estée Lauder, Verizon, General Atomics, Boeing, Schwab, Anthem, Frontier, JLL, and Geisinger, among others.

Tracey's early achievements include a feature in USA Today Money (Feb '11) and being named in Consulting-Specifying Engineering Magazine's 40 Under 40 ('20) as well as Engineered Systems Magazine's Top 20 Women to Watch in HVAC. She is a credited subject matter expert in The Building Commissioning Handbook and inaugural publication of ASHRAE Standard 230 - The Commissioning Process for Existing Buildings. Her greatest accomplishment, however, is seeing her mentees achieve similar high honors and credits.

Over her 20-year membership with ASHRAE, Tracey has held leadership positions in four different regions. She was the first female president of the Anthracite Chapter (PA - US), has held chair positions with Student Activities, Society and Regional Conference planning, Research Promotion, and Chapter Technology Transfer. She currently is Regional Vice Chair of the Government Affairs Committee (RVC-GAC) for Region 10.

Outside of work, Tracey's passion extends to community resilience planning and disaster response. Her outreach efforts include educating, serving as an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, advocating for Government Affairs in AZ, CA, HI, and NV, and fundraising and volunteering for numerous frontline climate action and conservation initiatives, including Cool Earth and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

Additionally, she is a motorsport enthusiast, is building an experimental aircraft with her partner, and recently became a certified mountaineer after summiting Mr. Kilimanjaro in September 2024.
