Welcome to our first ever Port Burger ‘Dad Olympics”!
We are excited to have you on board and look forward to a fun-filled Father’s Day at Port Burger in Port Noarlunga from 12-5pm.
Teams will consist of one Father + 1 child (under 18). Event is free to participate but if you wish to register for the event you must arrive by 12pm sharp on the day to sign up.
Below is a brief guide to the events on the day so that you know what to train for, and what to expect – however,
there may be some surprises along the way!
There will be five rounds over the course of 4 hours concluding with a placing of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Three judges for each round will be randomly selected from the crowd and will assist in allocating points, ensuring
fair play and overall decision making.
• 12:45pm – 1:30pm Round 1 – The Soul Bird “Tent Tackle”.
Contestants race to build and pack down a 2-person tent without instructions.
Points are awarded for speed, correct build, and pack down neatness out of 10/30 max
• 2pm – 2.15pm Round 2 – The Shifty Lizard Squat lift.
Contestants will compete to see how many squats in a single minute they can complete while holding a case of Shifty Lizard beer above their heads. For contestants under 12 this will be replaced with a four pack of beer.
Points are awarded for number of correct squats completed. 1 point per squat.
Judges will record correct squats to ensure no cheating!
• 2.30pm – 3pm Lunch and refreshments break
• 3pm – 3.30pm Round 3 – Zonte's Footstep - Dad Joke You Laugh, You Lose.
Contestants will draw numbered lizards from a bucket to decide comedic order and will take turns telling
dad jokes to the crowd.
If any competitor laughs, reacts or otherwise breaks a straight face, even at their own joke, they are out.
This will continue until one Dad Joker is left with points awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 10/30 max
Judges can award extra points for originality, creativity and knee slapping humor!
• 3.45pm – 4pm Round 4 – The Off Track Wines Lawn Chair Can Toss.
Contestants will have 3 attempts to huck a beer can from the comfort of a lawn chair.
3 points for 3 meters, 4 points for 4 meters, and 5 points for 5 meters.
Judges can award extra points for creativity or trickiness. Max 10 extra points.
• 4pm – 4.15pm Round 5 – The Port Burger Dad Bod Flex Comp.
A panel of 3 randomly selected judges will hold the fate of our dads in their hands.
In this final round, Dads will be given 30 seconds to show us their goods and strut their stuff, with little to no rules!
Judges will score best out of 10, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 10/30 max.
• 4.15pm – 4.30pm Round 6 -Tie Breaker – In the event of a draw, the rival contestants will be
asked to tell us their best dad story with judges deciding the winner.
Dress Code: Comfortable, appropriate attire in classic Dad fashion!
Finally, as expected, we ask that you show all the characteristics of a great dad during the day … decency,
sportsmanship, fairness, a good attitude, safety, respect and humour!
If at any time behaviour is deemed unbecoming of a great dad, or we feel that Responsible Service of Alcohol is in
question, you may be asked to leave the competition.
