'We are wired for connection. Our nervous systems are social structures that find balance and stability in relationship with others. Our biology shapes the way we navigate living, loving and working.'
-Deb Dana
In this experiential, creative and interactive journey, we will take an embodied dive into the anatomy of the nervous system.
We’ll explore how experience creates patterns of connection or protection.
We’ll learn about the 3 branches of the nervous system-social engagement, fight/flight and collapse-and how to recognize, resource and regulate them.
We’ll learn how to shape the nervous system in the direction of safety and connection as well as how to grow our window of tolerance for stressors that challenge and dysregulate us.
Our journey consists of:
-polyvagal theory, neuroception & basic brain science
-stress anatomy: healthy vs. unhealthy vs. chronic stress
-nervous system anatomy & mapping
-healthy & dysfunctional states: what moves us in and out of balance and the relative safety/stress biochemistry
-restoring safety and sense of okayness within
-emotional state mapping
-embodiment practices
-interactive exercises
You can expect to walk away with:
- new levels of self-acceptance, compassion, empowerment
- embodied understanding of how your Nervous System is built to serve you and how you can shape it for experiences of safety, connection, love and belonging
- a clear map and tools to become an empowered agent on your Nervous System shaping journey - lots of new insight. self-awareness and feelings of connection to self and the world around you
