Every hero’s journey includes trials — both seen and unseen.
For many veterans and their families, that journey continues long after service ends.
At Ease is a free, community-based event created to offer space for healing, connection, and rest.
🗓️ June 23 | 5:30-8pm
📍 Location: Harwood Nature Center at the Lawrence Wetlands Preserve (Sultana Education Foundation): 301 S. Mill St., Chestertown, MD, 21620
🎟️ Free • Ages 16+
We begin with a social hour — a chance to gather with other veterans, spouses, children and stepchildren ages 16+, to share space and support in a relaxed environment.
Then, Vance Row of Yoga Rescue will lead a talk on PTSD, hypervigilance, and the ongoing mental health challenges faced by veterans and those who love them — and how yoga and meditation can be powerful tools for regulating the nervous system, releasing tension, and reclaiming a sense of safety in the body.
You’ll be guided through a trauma-sensitive yoga practice, designed for all levels, that emphasizes choice, grounding, and gentle movement.
We’ll close with iRest meditation, a research-supported practice that helps with sleep, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and chronic stress. iRest is simple and accessible — you can lie down, close your eyes, and be guided toward deep rest and inner calm.
This event is an invitation to pause, reconnect, and return — to your breath, your body, your people, and your path forward.
